What ties these stories together is easy to miss, so read on and see the bigger picture behind them.

Markets

Apple crossed the five trillion dollar mark intraday for the fifth time but still has not managed a close above it, a streak of near misses investors cannot stop watching.

The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach handled their busiest month ever in September, with imports up 24 percent from a year ago on lower tariffs and strong consumer spending.

Investors keep piling into U.S. stock funds, 13 straight months of inflows, the longest streak on record.

Bond markets took the day off for Columbus Day, which may explain the calm. Bank earnings start tomorrow after a rough few months for the sector.

Oil climbed, with Brent near 106 dollars, after Russia hit Ukrainian energy targets and Houthi militants struck a Saudi airport.

Healthcare & Biotech

Regeneron reported no new abnormal bone-growth lesions at week 84 in patients receiving Pasatru, according to extended Phase 3 trial results in adults with the rare disease FOP, ahead of a planned pediatric study.

Bristol Myers Squibb’s experimental cancer treatment RYZ101 met its main Phase 3 goal, delaying progression of rare gastrointestinal and pancreatic tumors after earlier treatment failed, with regulatory discussions planned and detailed results still pending.

The research approach that helped Irving Weiss warn about the 1929 crash is
now flashing a new market signal.

Weiss Ratings says the second half of 2026 could bring a major rotation — hurting some popular stocks while creating opportunities in lesser-known names.

Their latest briefing reveals both the stocks they believe investors should avoid and the ones they’re watching most closely.

Consumer & Retail

Morgan Stanley named eBay its top internet stock pick, citing livestream shopping as a growing sales driver and estimating that live commerce accounts for more than 40% of the platform’s merchandise-volume growth.

Starbucks ruled out buying Chipotle Mexican Grill, ending speculation about a potential restaurant megadeal following last week’s report, while reaffirming its focus on the turnaround strategy led by former Chipotle chief Brian Niccol.

Telecom & Broadband

Calix expanded its SmartLife applications to devices running the open-source prplOS platform, allowing broadband providers to offer cybersecurity, parental controls and community Wi-Fi while retaining greater choice over their networking equipment and management systems.

Uniti’s Kinetic reported a 31% expansion of its Lexington fiber network over the past year, adding 11,400 locations and reaching 46,800 households, with further construction planned through the end of 2026 and into 2027.

Top Winners and Losers

WF Holding [WFF] $17.28 (+40.60%)

WF Holding extended its wild ride, adding another 40 percent to a run that took the shares from about $2 to $17 in just two sessions.

Traders piled into the Malaysia-based fiberglass tank maker while the story stayed mostly in the financing paperwork: a one-for-five reverse split in April and a $30 million equity line from August.

American Realty Investors [ARL] $19.25 (+17.02%)

American Realty Investors jumped on featherlight trading, with only about 3,600 shares changing hands, a reminder that a thinly traded real estate stock can move a long way on very little.

The latest quarterly report, covering the period through June, showed a $1.0 million loss as funds from operations slid, so today’s pop looks more like scarcity than fundamentals.

Greenland Mines [GRML] $6.02 (+16.44%)

Greenland Mines bounced after a brutal week that dragged the shares from roughly $7 to about $5, courtesy of a registered direct offering of more than $42 million and a new Frankfurt listing.

Rare earth and Arctic mining stories swing wildly on sentiment, and bargain hunters stepped in. The company is pre-revenue, so the stock lives on the narrative.

Contineum Therapeutics [CTNM] $8.576 (-35.99%)

Bristol Myers’ admilparant hit its goal at the 60 milligram dose but missed at 120, and investors worried that raises dose questions for Contineum’s PIPE-791, still in Phase 2. Biotech is quick to punish guilt by association.

Chaince Digital Holdings [CD] $7.18 (-17.09%)

Chaince Digital kept sliding, extending Friday’s 20 percent drop and shedding roughly a third of its value in two sessions.

The tokenization-focused firm has a history of whiplash, with an August offering that added about 30 million shares and a day last week that swung between roughly $9 and $12.60.

Traders in this name rarely overstay their welcome.

Service Properties Trust [SVC] $5.93 (-17.06%)

Service Properties Trust tumbled after TKO Hotels made an unsolicited $2 billion cash offer for its hotel portfolio, which spans Sonesta, Courtyard by Marriott and Hyatt Place properties.

The board is evaluating the bid, and the stock fell as investors weighed whether it was an opportunity or a lowball. It wiped out Friday’s rally and then some.

December Eight Matters (Sponsored)

One analyst believes Elon Musk is preparing to launch the biggest project of his career — and says the key date is December 8.

He claims the clues are already buried in government filings, along with one investment move he believes should be made before December 9.

His full case is laid out in a free masterclass.

Everything Else

You Read This Far. Here's Where the Real Work Lives.

We run three live portfolios on Autopilot, and everything about them is public: every position, every allocation, every trade, visible the moment it happens.

We keep our own money in each one, because analysis you won't fund yourself is just content.

THE UNBREAKABLE STACK
Our growth book: durable software and cybersecurity names built to compound quietly for years.

THE HORMUZ PREMIUM
Our energy thesis: built for how that sector actually pays, over quarters, not headlines.

THE ELON INDEX
Our conviction bet on the Musk universe: Tesla, and the companies orbiting his ventures, energy, AI, infrastructure. High-beta by design, for investors who want direct exposure to the trade rather than watching it from the sidelines.

And here's the part that makes it effortless: Autopilot does the trading for you. Connect the brokerage you already use (Robinhood, Schwab, Fidelity, and more) and every move we make gets mirrored in your own account automatically.

Your money never leaves your brokerage. It stays in your account, under your control, and you can override any trade or disconnect anytime. Autopilot even rebalances automatically when allocations drift, and you get a notification every time something happens.

No watching tickers. No timing entries. No fat-finger mistakes at market open. You pick the portfolio, we do the work, your account follows along.

Pick the one that fits your risk level, or run all three:

Live portfolios, real positions, our own capital at stake. Your funds stay in your own brokerage account. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results.

That's it for today! Please, write us back, and let us know what you think of the Closing Bell Roundup. We're always eager to hear feedback!

Thanks for reading. I'll see you at the next open!

Best Regards,
— Adam G.
