Walmart to Introduce Luxury Goods and Collectibles to Online Marketplace

Walmart is taking steps to enhance its online marketplace, aiming to grow its customer base and stay competitive in a crowded retail market. The company is now offering high-end beauty products, pre-owned watches, and collectible trading cards, aiming to attract a wider range of shoppers.

This expansion is designed to surprise customers with a more diverse selection of products, making it easier for them to find what they need and discover new items. Walmart's online marketplace has become an essential part of its e-commerce growth, contributing significantly to the company's recent success. As the retailer continues to attract more active customers, it remains focused on making its e-commerce operations more profitable.

Over the past year, Walmart's marketplace has experienced substantial growth, with a notable increase in both sales and the number of sellers. To further enhance this platform, Walmart is implementing additional measures to verify sellers, boost sales of refurbished products, and introduce preorder options for collectibles.

The retailer is also expanding its fulfillment services, allowing sellers to use Walmart's logistics network even for orders placed on other websites. Additionally, Walmart is improving its logistics processes, particularly for shipments from Asia to the U.S., to better serve its growing reach.

OpenAI’s New AI 'Strawberry' Set to Revolutionize Problem-Solving Capabilities

OpenAI, supported by Microsoft, is set to release an advanced AI product named Strawberry this fall. Originally called Q, Strawberry represents a major leap forward in artificial intelligence, designed to handle complex tasks that current models like ChatGPT cannot manage.

Strawberry is capable of solving novel mathematical problems and performing sophisticated assignments such as crafting marketing strategies and solving complex word puzzles. The new AI may also be integrated into existing platforms, potentially enhancing tools like ChatGPT-4o.

The company is focusing on expanding its deep research capabilities with this innovative technology. OpenAI is also actively seeking new investors to support the ongoing development and advancement of its AI models.

This move highlights OpenAI’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what artificial intelligence can achieve, setting the stage for significant advancements in the field.

Xpeng Unveils Budget-Friendly Mona M03 EV, Challenging Tesla in China

Xpeng, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced that its mass-market brand Mona will introduce some models priced under $17,000. The Mona M03 electric coupe, with a basic model priced at 119,800 yuan ($16,812), offers a driving range of 515 kilometers (320 miles) and includes basic parking assist features. A more advanced version, equipped with "Max" driver-assist technology and a 580-kilometer range, will retail for 155,800 yuan.

Compared to Tesla's Model 3, which costs 231,900 yuan in China after recent price cuts, Mona M03 offers a more affordable alternative. Xpeng has already started presales of the Mona M03 on August 8, with mass deliveries expected to follow shortly.

The Max version of the Mona M03 includes advanced features like automated backing in narrow spaces and remote-controlled parking. However, its delivery is scheduled post-Lunar New Year in 2025.

Xpeng’s driver-assist technology is considered among the best in China, although Tesla’s full self-driving option is anticipated to launch soon in the region. Xpeng also revealed plans for an upcoming humanoid robot and a proprietary chip but provided few details.

The Mona brand, developed using technology acquired from Didi, targets young professionals. Questions loom about the company’s eventual foray into the U.S. market.
