Markets

Amazon Web Services revenue accelerated 37% as AI demand for cloud compute exceeded even the company’s own expectations, and Amazon said it would be spending more on data centers — which investors read as bullish, not cautious.

Apple’s story ran in reverse: the September-quarter outlook failed to impress, and the stock fell about 9%, erasing roughly $470 billion in market cap in Apple’s worst day since 2020.

South Korea’s Kospi staged an 18% recovery — the week started with it down 10%, so the net is less dramatic than it sounds, but the scale of the swing tells you everything about where market sentiment is right now.

The 10-year Treasury yield hit its highest level since early 2025 at 4.737% as three Fed dissenters separately explained why they wanted a rate hike this week, adding credibility to the hawkish minority inside the FOMC.

Replimune’s FDA advisory panel voted 10 to 3 in favor of its RP1 melanoma therapy’s efficacy data, overturning the bearish FDA staff document from last week and setting up the August 2 PDUFA decision as the next binary event.

IES Holdings Builds a $4.5 Billion Backlog

IES Holdings reported a sharp expansion in data-center infrastructure work, with quarterly revenue rising 40% to $1.24 billion as its communications and infrastructure-solutions businesses grew 51% and 73%, respectively.

The electrical contractor also ended June with about $4.5 billion in backlog and approved a two-for-one stock split, giving the company more future project visibility as AI development drives demand for power, cabling, and mechanical systems.

Linde Commits $1 Billion to Arizona Chip Plants

Linde signed a new long-term semiconductor gas contract and will invest about $1 billion in Arizona to supply two new chip fabrication plants with ultra-high-purity nitrogen, oxygen, and argon.

The company will build, own, and operate two air-separation units and related infrastructure, expanding its role inside the U.S. chip supply chain as manufacturers add production capacity for AI systems and high-performance computing.

Chime Cuts 10% of Its Workforce

Chime is cutting about 140 positions, representing roughly 10% of its workforce, as the digital banking company reduces staffing following its move into the public market.

The cuts point to tighter cost control inside a fintech business competing with large banks and digital rivals for checking, savings, credit, and payment customers, while trying to build a more efficient operating structure.

Agree Realty Accelerates Retail Property Buying

Agree Realty completed a record $502 million of investments across 102 retail properties during the second quarter, lifting its portfolio to 2,825 locations with a record occupancy rate of 99.8%.

The company raised its 2026 investment target to as much as $1.8 billion, giving the retail landlord more room to acquire properties occupied by financially strong tenants such as Walmart, Home Depot, CVS, and TJX.

ExxonMobil Delivers Record Production in a Volatile Quarter

ExxonMobil reported its highest oil-and-gas output in more than two decades, with record Permian Basin production, as CEO Darren Woods said the quarter was "shaped by disruption, but defined by execution" amid Middle East supply upheaval.

Adjusted earnings landed just short of Wall Street estimates as scheduled refinery maintenance squeezed fuel-making profits. The company still returned $9.4 billion to shareholders and set sail on a fifth Guyana production vessel due to start up late this year.

Chevron Posts Its Best Profit in Six Years

Chevron delivered its largest quarterly profit since 2022, beating estimates by a wide margin as war-driven supply disruptions lifted crude, gasoline, and diesel prices during the quarter.

Record U.S. production and refinery throughput, plus $1.5 billion in synergies from the Hess acquisition, reached half a year ahead of schedule, helping the company return $6.5 billion to shareholders while cutting debt by a record $8.4 billion.

Louis Navellier says his $9 million Stock Grader system is flashing its highest rating on one AI stock for 2026.

This company recently reported record annual revenue of $113.5 billion, earned an A-rating in his system, and is tied to a major AI expansion linked to Elon Musk’s “Project Apex.”

Navellier says this is the same system that helped him spot Nvidia long before its historic run.

AbbVie Raises Revenue Outlook on Immunology Strength

AbbVie lifted its full-year revenue forecast by $300 million after its immunology drugs Skyrizi and Rinvoq each grew more than 20%, extending the company's pivot away from its aging blockbuster Humira.

The drugmaker trimmed its full-year profit guidance slightly to absorb its pending $10.9 billion acquisition of Apogee Therapeutics, a deal set to close next quarter that deepens AbbVie's pipeline of experimental inflammatory and immune-disease treatments.

Moderna Slides on a Pipeline Setback

Moderna shares fell after the company reported a quarterly net loss alongside news that its experimental norovirus vaccine missed early success criteria at a Phase 3 interim analysis.

Revenue came in at just $145 million as its COVID franchise continued to shrink, though CEO Stéphane Bancel pointed to the potential U.S. approval of its combination flu shot later this year, which would become Moderna's fifth marketed product.

Space-Eyes Takes Its Counter-Drone Tech Public

Space-Eyes agreed to go public through a $638 million merger with McKinley Acquisition Corp., giving the AI-powered counter-drone and geospatial intelligence developer up to $251.7 million in gross proceeds to move beyond research and expand production.

The company is negotiating contracts worth about $35 million across government surveillance, prison security, and drone-defense work, with the combined business expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker CUAS after the deal closes.

IndiGo Pulls Back From Widebody Flying

IndiGo will end its Norse Atlantic lease and discontinue widebody operations in late October, stepping back from leased Boeing 787 flights as geopolitical disruptions make its international expansion more difficult.

The airline will replace its Mumbai-Amsterdam service with smaller Airbus A321XLR aircraft and temporarily suspend London Heathrow flights until its own Airbus A350-900 jets arrive, reshaping its long-haul network around lower-cost aircraft.

Top Winners and Losers

Focus Universal [FCUV] $11.60 (+517.02%)

Focus Universal is a commercial services company that went from under $2 to above $11 on 5,157x relative volume — a number that is not a typo. The $1.32 million market cap means any institutional positioning move produces extraordinary percentage changes.

Today’s mechanics are thin-float speculation and momentum at its most extreme. The company itself is real; the move is not fundamental.

Replimune [REPL] $11.20 (+107.02%)

The FDA’s advisory committee voted 10 to 3 that RP1 plus nivolumab shows clinically meaningful benefit in the IGNYTE trial for advanced melanoma — directly contradicting the skeptical FDA staff documents that sent the stock down 39% on July 28.

The BLA resubmission now has a favorable adcom vote behind it ahead of the August 2 PDUFA date. Classic biotech binary: the committee blinked, and the stock doubled. Buy rated at $454.25 million.

Tucows [TCX] $15.44 (+59.18%)

Tucows runs a domain registrar business and a mobile services platform. The stock surged 59% today at a $172.14 million market cap on 6.85x average volume.

The company has been restructuring toward its fiber internet and mobile businesses, and today’s move reflects active institutional positioning after a period of significant underperformance. Today’s numbers: $15.44, +59%, 665.64K shares traded.

JIADE Limited [JDZG] $6.01 (-87.98%)

JIADE Limited is a Chinese commercial services company that fell 87% today at a $271.57 million market cap on 3x average volume.

A move of this magnitude for a company at this market cap typically reflects either a massive dilutive capital raise, a regulatory or compliance development, or the unwind of a post-announcement premium. The scale of the decline demands clarity before any conclusions are drawn.

T3 Defense [DFNS] $27.68 (-67.43%)

T3 Defense went from under $5 on July 22 to $79.30 on July 30 and is now at $27.68 on July 31. The 1-for-125 reverse split created a paper stock with no durable trading base, and what momentum gives in four extraordinary sessions, it takes back in one.

The Project35 acquisition story is unchanged. The price is finding its reality. Strong Buy rated.

BioAge Labs [BIOA] $9.04 (-63.62%)

BioAge Labs is a clinical-stage company developing aging biology therapeutics and fell 63% today at a $1.1 billion market cap on 15.89x average volume.

The scale of the decline for a Strong Buy-rated company suggests a major clinical development — trial data, safety signal, or study discontinuation — rather than market-wide pressure. The company’s obesity pipeline has been its primary near-term value driver.

Inside Trump’s Investment (Sponsored)

President Trump reportedly invested as much as $25 million in one unusual investment.

There was no major announcement. Yet the investment may be paying him up to $250,000 a month, and until recently, most Americans could not access the assets behind it.

Now, Alexander Green believes this little-known fund could become one of the most talked-about investments in the country.

And today, it trades for less than $20.

See how to access Trump’s unusual investment for under $20.

Everything Else

You Read This Far. Here's Where the Real Work Lives.

We run three live portfolios on Autopilot, and everything about them is public: every position, every allocation, every trade, visible the moment it happens.

We keep our own money in each one, because analysis you won't fund yourself is just content.

THE UNBREAKABLE STACK
Our growth book: durable software and cybersecurity names built to compound quietly for years.

THE HORMUZ PREMIUM
Our energy thesis: built for how that sector actually pays, over quarters, not headlines.

THE SQUEEZE
The defensive sleeve: staples and steady compounders, boring on purpose, built for the nights you'd rather sleep than watch futures.

And here's the part that makes it effortless: Autopilot does the trading for you. Connect the brokerage you already use (Robinhood, Schwab, Fidelity, and more) and every move we make gets mirrored in your own account automatically.

Your money never leaves your brokerage. It stays in your account, under your control, and you can override any trade or disconnect anytime. Autopilot even rebalances automatically when allocations drift, and you get a notification every time something happens.

No watching tickers. No timing entries. No fat-finger mistakes at market open. You pick the portfolio, we do the work, your account follows along.

Pick the one that fits your risk level, or run all three:

Live portfolios, real positions, our own capital at stake. Your funds stay in your own brokerage account. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results.

That's it for today! Please, write us back, and let us know what you think of the Closing Bell Roundup. We're always eager to hear feedback!

Thanks for reading. I'll see you at the next open!
