OpenAI released a new model called Astra, and AI infrastructure stocks surged in response. Today’s edition covers both stories, Intel’s surprise 9% day, and every name that moved.

Novartis said Friday that pelacarsen, its experimental heart disease drug, failed to reduce cardiovascular risk in a late-stage trial — and on Tuesday, Amgen fell 10% in its worst single session since October 2000, because Amgen and Eli Lilly are developing rival treatments that were assumed to benefit from the same biology; Novartis tumbled 10% in Europe, and Eli Lilly dipped too, making health care the S&P 500’s worst-performing sector.

OpenAI released Astra, its latest model, and AI infrastructure stocks moved the opposite way from the rest of the market: CoreWeave jumped 15%, Lumentum 12%, and Coherent 9%, while quantum computing names also caught a bid. Intel rose 9% after an analyst upgrade and reports that the company is planning to raise CPU prices.

GE Aerospace announced it will acquire Consolidated Precision Products — the maker of the blades and vanes that go inside jet engines — for $11.75 billion, bringing in-house a supplier it has relied on for 15 years. Boston Scientific lowered its full-year sales and earnings targets after last month’s cyberattack left it unable to process and ship cardiac device orders; the stock is now down 52% from a year ago.

Boeing’s Dreamliner Deliveries Slow, but Annual Target Holds

Boeing  delivered 51 commercial jets in August, down from 57 a year earlier, as Dreamliner handovers fell to four from nine, although the company said the decline did not reflect production, supply chain or certification problems.

The planemaker maintained its target of delivering 90 to 100 Dreamliners this year, while total aircraft deliveries reached 418 through August, its strongest first eight months since 2018 despite the latest monthly slowdown.

GE Aerospace Moves to Secure Engine Parts With $11.75 Billion Deal

Intellia’s Gene-Editing Treatment Gets FDA Priority Review

Intellia Therapeutics secured FDA priority review for lonvo-z, its experimental treatment for hereditary angioedema, and the agency set March 10, 2027, as its target date to decide on the application.

If approved, the therapy would become the first CRISPR treatment to edit genes inside the body and the only one-time treatment for the disease, according to the company, which reported positive Phase 3 results.

Bristol Myers’ Cell Therapy Clears a Key Blood-Cancer Trial

Bristol Myers Squibb said its experimental cell therapy arlo-cel met its main Phase 2 goal in patients with advanced multiple myeloma who had already received four major classes of treatment, including therapies targeting a different cancer-cell protein.

The study also met its complete-response goal, but detailed results remain unpublished and are scheduled for an upcoming medical meeting, so the size of the benefit remains undisclosed.

Top Winners and Losers

CEA Industries [BNC] $5.25 (+50.43%)

CEA Industries pivoted earlier this year from controlled environment agriculture to a BNB Chain treasury strategy, and today the stock ran 50% after BNB Chain’s launchpad Four.meme launched BNC4 — the first tokenized Nasdaq stock product tied one-to-one to BNC shares.

Binance founder CZ posted on X that “IPOs will move on chain,” and crypto traders seeking on-chain exposure to the stock bought the underlying shares to access it. The product attracted over $2 million in mint requests within hours of launch.

System1 [SST] $5.00 (+30.55%)

System1 operates a programmatic advertising and customer acquisition platform, generating revenue from targeted digital marketing across owned and operated web properties.

The company reported Q2 results that beat expectations on revenue growth and improved gross margins, showing that its consent-based advertising approach is gaining traction even as the broader ad market navigates uncertainty.

Swvl Holdings [SWVL] $6.42 (+30.22%)

Swvl runs a mass transit platform connecting riders and operators across the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. With the region’s logistics and transportation demand elevated by ongoing Hormuz shipping disruptions and urban mobility pressure, Swvl’s regional positioning is drawing renewed interest.

The company is P/E positive and generating revenue from a growing base of city transport contracts.

Focus Universal [FCUV] $5.91 (-65.24%)

Focus Universal appeared in the top winners list for four consecutive sessions in late August and early September, running from $11 to $19 on thin-float momentum.

Today the same mechanics ran in reverse: the momentum broke, buyers stepped away, and the stock fell 65% in a single session. The IoT connectivity platform business is unchanged. The price was not built on fundamentals, so it had no fundamentals to hold it.

bioAffinity Technologies [BIAF] $8.93 (-41.52%)

bioAffinity’s CancerSEEK blood-based lung cancer detection platform drove five sessions of 19-48% daily gains starting September 1, taking the stock from $4.50 to $15.27.

The reversal is now underway: -41% today brings it back to $8.93, still 98% above where the run started. The clinical technology is real; the trading was a momentum squeeze, and those unwind the same way they build.

Lexaria Bioscience [LEXX] $9.37 (-33.78%)

Lexaria owns patents on DehydraTECH, its drug delivery technology that improves bioavailability of active ingredients including cannabinoids and nicotine.

The stock ran in multiple sessions through August and early September, and today is giving back a significant portion of those gains as the momentum cycle rotates. The IP portfolio is intact; the premium built by momentum trading is compressing.

A New Warning (Sponsored)

Elon Musk is now paying you 15X more than your bank… Thanks to a project he's been working on for the last 27 years. All you have to do is sign up for his new bank. For years, America's biggest banks have been telling you they have no choice but to pay you interest rates as low as 0.4% (that's the national average).

Now, suddenly… Elon is exposing many of these bankers for the sharks they really are. He's not offering double… or triple… or even five times the interest… But 15 times the national average — at 6% per year.

This is just one of the radical ways Elon's new bank is disrupting the financial sector…

Luke Lango is revealing how it could impact your money (and how you should prepare) here.

Everything Else

You Read This Far. Here's Where the Real Work Lives.

We run three live portfolios on Autopilot, and everything about them is public: every position, every allocation, every trade, visible the moment it happens.

We keep our own money in each one, because analysis you won't fund yourself is just content.

THE UNBREAKABLE STACK
Our growth book: durable software and cybersecurity names built to compound quietly for years.

THE HORMUZ PREMIUM
Our energy thesis: built for how that sector actually pays, over quarters, not headlines.

THE ELON INDEX
Our conviction bet on the Musk universe: Tesla, and the companies orbiting his ventures, energy, AI, infrastructure. High-beta by design, for investors who want direct exposure to the trade rather than watching it from the sidelines.

And here's the part that makes it effortless: Autopilot does the trading for you. Connect the brokerage you already use (Robinhood, Schwab, Fidelity, and more) and every move we make gets mirrored in your own account automatically.

Your money never leaves your brokerage. It stays in your account, under your control, and you can override any trade or disconnect anytime. Autopilot even rebalances automatically when allocations drift, and you get a notification every time something happens.

No watching tickers. No timing entries. No fat-finger mistakes at market open. You pick the portfolio, we do the work, your account follows along.

Pick the one that fits your risk level, or run all three:

Live portfolios, real positions, our own capital at stake. Your funds stay in your own brokerage account. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results.

That's it for today! Please, write us back, and let us know what you think of the Closing Bell Roundup. We're always eager to hear feedback!

Thanks for reading. I'll see you at the next open!
