Earnings season opened with a big plot twist: the winners took a victory lap, and the market responded with a shrug. Elsewhere, a rival half a world away gave one corner of tech a sudden case of nerves.

A giant health insurer quietly had a rather good day too, so read on to see how it all adds up.

One Stock Benefits (Sponsored)

Elon Musk says reports of a new SpaceX phone-like device are “utterly false.”

But one analyst believes recent FCC filings and trademarks tell a different story.

He thinks they point toward a new device that could create a major investing opportunity before the broader market catches on.

And he has identified one stock he believes could benefit most.

See the filings, trademarks, and stock behind his prediction here.

Markets

JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Wells Fargo all reported higher third-quarter profits, yet most of their shares drifted lower as executives warned that rising rates could spoil the fun.

Goldman stood out, with equities trading revenue jumping 72 percent from a year ago on prime brokerage lending. Micron and other memory makers slumped after comments from China’s CXMT stoked fears of tougher competition.

UnitedHealth beat estimates and raised its guidance, though shares gave back early gains. Diesel futures climbed 4.5 percent to a two-week high despite President Trump’s deal to ease sanctions on Russian diesel, and Brent held above 105 dollars.

Meanwhile, Mind Robotics, a physical AI startup with ties to Rivian, named former Ford EV chief Doug Field as president.

Market-Moving News

AI & Networking

Keysight introduced two platforms for testing faster Ethernet connections in AI data centers, simulating demanding AI workloads and checking network performance to help equipment makers validate switches and routers before deploying larger computing systems.

Marvell introduced two connectivity chips designed to move data faster between AI processors and network switches, extending copper connections while improving power efficiency, with both products now available for customer sampling.

Consumer & Retail

Walmart expanded employee healthcare benefits to include more than 250 medications at no cost, offering free insulin, inhalers and eligible diabetes treatments as the retailer conducts annual benefits enrollment for its U.S. workforce.

Albertsons withdrew its annual forecasts and launched a broad business review, targeting cost reductions, lower prices and simpler operations after quarterly comparable sales declined, with a comprehensive turnaround plan expected alongside its fourth-quarter results.

Banking & Finance

Goldman Sachs reported quarterly earnings of $17.01 per share, comfortably beating expectations, with revenue rising 23% to $18.68 billion as strong stock-trading activity supported results despite a 20% increase in operating expenses.

JPMorgan missed quarterly profit expectations for the first time in nearly three years, as weaker bond trading and slower dealmaking weighed on results, although healthy lending and consumer spending supported a higher interest-income forecast.

Inflation Gap Widens (Sponsored)

Since 1971, official inflation figures show a rise of 8.3X. In reality, the U.S. money supply has grown 35X.

Weiss Ratings senior analyst Gavin Magor calls the gigantic gap "Project Pyramid." U.S. debt is now over 121% of GDP.

That's higher than the peak of World War 2. Foreign nations are already pulling back, and your portfolio needs its own backup plan.

Here's the strategy Gavin recommends before the gap gets worse

Aerospace & Defense

Boeing delivered 57 aircraft in September, up from 51 in August, while booking 165 new orders, including 100 737 MAX jets for Turkish Airlines as the manufacturer works to increase production. reuters.com

XTEND secured a $40.5 million Pentagon order for 6,000 STRIKER drones, following its selection in the Drone Dominance Program, with systems designed for tactical missions in confined spaces and environments without satellite navigation.

Power & Grid Infrastructure

Itron and PG&E are expanding technology that detects electrical faults before they trigger wildfires, with approximately 3,000 sensors being installed around Santa Cruz and plans to reach roughly 10,000 devices through 2027.

Enerflex won a contract to supply more than one gigawatt of gas-fired power equipment for a North American data center development, lifting its onsite power-generation backlog above 1.75 gigawatts, with deliveries extending through 2028.

Top Winners and Losers

Bumble [BMBL] $5.95 (+56.58%)

Bumble soared after agreeing to be taken private by Ithaca Holdings for $6.05 per share in cash, a deal worth about $1.3 billion carrying a premium above 120 percent to its price before sale talk surfaced.

Founder Whitney Wolfe Herd and Blackstone have committed their votes. The stock settled just under the offer, the market’s way of nodding along.

Picard Medical [PMI] $15.33 (+35.19%)

Picard Medical, the company behind the SynCardia total artificial heart, rocketed again, adding to a pattern of big swings this month.

Second quarter revenue rose 39 percent to about $3 million, and the loss narrowed 16 percent, giving bulls a growth story to hang their hats on. Heart devices are a niche business, and when traders notice, they notice fast.

Julong Holding [JLHL] $5.15 (+16.78%)

Julong Holding, a Chinese infrastructure systems integrator that listed in June 2025, jumped as traders circled a stock that has swung wildly and triggered several volatility pauses.

The company signed a private placement agreement in late September, and its latest full-year results showed revenue up 45% and earnings up 53%, giving buyers a growth story to chew on.

Cue Biopharma [CUE] $19.57 (-20.48%)

Cue Biopharma handed back its Friday rally, sliding to $19.57 from $27.66 over two sessions.

That rally was built on September data showing its chronic hives drug CUE-221 cleared hives in up to 54 percent of patients versus 11 percent on placebo, with a Phase 2b/3 study as the next step. Biotech rallies can fade as fast as they form.

SVRN [SVRN] $38.61 (-20.38%)

SVRN sank a day after short seller Fugazi Research called it uninvestable, alleging four reverse splits since 2022, heavy dilution, Ernst & Young’s resignation as auditor, and a missed annual filing deadline, with Nasdaq’s cutoff set for October 27.

These are allegations, and the company did not immediately respond. The crypto treasury story just picked up a very loud skeptic.

Sutro Biopharma [STRO] $11.01 (-17.09%)

Sutro Biopharma slid with the cancer drug developer’s calendar looking quiet: its lead program STRO-006 is still in the clinic, an application to start trials of STRO-227 is planned this year, and data from both do not arrive until next year.

When a biotech’s catalysts sit that far out, shares can wobble on sentiment alone.

Everything Else

You Read This Far. Here's Where the Real Work Lives.

We run three live portfolios on Autopilot, and everything about them is public: every position, every allocation, every trade, visible the moment it happens.

We keep our own money in each one, because analysis you won't fund yourself is just content.

THE UNBREAKABLE STACK
Our growth book: durable software and cybersecurity names built to compound quietly for years.

THE HORMUZ PREMIUM
Our energy thesis: built for how that sector actually pays, over quarters, not headlines.

THE ELON INDEX
Our conviction bet on the Musk universe: Tesla, and the companies orbiting his ventures, energy, AI, infrastructure. High-beta by design, for investors who want direct exposure to the trade rather than watching it from the sidelines.

And here's the part that makes it effortless: Autopilot does the trading for you. Connect the brokerage you already use (Robinhood, Schwab, Fidelity, and more) and every move we make gets mirrored in your own account automatically.

Your money never leaves your brokerage. It stays in your account, under your control, and you can override any trade or disconnect anytime. Autopilot even rebalances automatically when allocations drift, and you get a notification every time something happens.

No watching tickers. No timing entries. No fat-finger mistakes at market open. You pick the portfolio, we do the work, your account follows along.

Pick the one that fits your risk level, or run all three:

Live portfolios, real positions, our own capital at stake. Your funds stay in your own brokerage account. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results.

That's it for today! Please, write us back, and let us know what you think of the Closing Bell Roundup. We're always eager to hear feedback!

Thanks for reading. I'll see you at the next open!

Best Regards,
