Home Depot Sees Sales Rebound But Consumer Caution Continues to Haunt Outlook

Home Depot [NYSE: HD] reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings today, marking the end of its eight-quarter streak of declining comparable sales.
However, despite the strong performance, the company issued a cautious outlook for 2025, citing ongoing pressure from high interest rates and elevated home prices.
For the quarter, Home Depot’s revenue of $39.70 billion is above analysts’ expectations of $39.16 billion.
Earnings per share are $3.02, slightly above the forecast of $3.01. Same-store sales increased by 0.8%, while U.S. comparable sales rose 1.3%, partly due to hurricane-related demand.
Shares are currently up by about 0.7% in premarket trading.
Home Depot projects modest 2.8% sales growth for the full year, with comparable sales expected to rise by about 1%. Adjusted earnings per share are forecasted to decline by roughly 2%.
CFO Richard McPhail highlighted that while consumers remain hesitant to take on large renovation projects, spending on smaller improvements has picked up.
The company saw growth in 15 of its 19 U.S. regions and across half of its merchandise categories.
Home Depot continues to expand its e-commerce efforts, with online sales rising 9% in the quarter.
The retailer also plans to open 13 new stores in 2025 and has been investing in its professional customer base, including its $18.25 billion acquisition of SRS Distribution.

American Tower’s Q4 Revenue Hits $2.55 Billion, Earnings Surge

American Tower Corporation [NYSE: AMT] reported stronger-than-expected fourth-quarter results today, driven by steady revenue growth and an exceptional increase in net income.
The company posted a total revenue of $2.55 billion, marking a 3.7% year-over-year increase and exceeding Wall Street estimates.
Property revenue is also up by 2.0% to $2.48 billion.
Net income dramatically surged over 9,000% to $1.23 billion, largely due to effective cost management and global expansion efforts.
Adjusted EBITDA rose by 5.1% to $1.69 billion due to operational efficiency and the company’s growing influence in mid-band deployments and early 5G upgrades across U.S., European, and emerging markets.
Free cash flow increased by 22.2% to $746 million, highlighting American Tower’s strong financial position and ability to reinvest in strategic initiatives.
Leasing activity at CoreSite, a key contributor to growth, continued to expand.
Looking ahead, the company has provided cautious but optimistic guidance for 2025.
It projects total property revenue between $9.92 billion and $10.07 billion, with a midpoint growth rate of 0.6%.

AI and EVs are booming, and at the heart of these industries lies a critical need for metals like copper, nickel, and PGMs. As demand for clean energy and advanced technology accelerates, companies securing these resources are becoming essential players in the global supply chain.
That’s why one Canadian mining company is making headlines. Their high-grade polymetallic discovery in Quebec is drawing comparisons to Russia’s Norilsk Mine—one of the world’s richest deposits.
With industry legends Robert Friedland and Rob McEwen backing the project and a fully funded exploration program through 2025, this could be a rare opportunity for investors seeking exposure to the metals fueling the future.

Keurig Dr Pepper Posts Solid Q4 Growth, Sets Optimistic 2025 Outlook

Keurig Dr Pepper [NASDAQ: KDP] is trading 2.6% higher in premarket action today due to its Wall-Street-beating fourth-quarter earnings report.
The beverage company’s strong revenue growth, particularly in its U.S. refreshment segment, led to its net sales increasing by 10.3% to $2.4 billion.
This increase was driven by 7.5% growth in volume/mix and a 2.8% rise in pricing, fueled by strong demand for carbonated soft drinks (CSDs) and the addition of Electrolit.
However, the U.S. coffee segment reported a 2.4% decline in net sales, totaling $1.1 billion.
Despite a 1.1% rise in K-Cup pod shipments, pricing pressure led to a 3.1% drop in net price realization.
The international segment posted modest growth of 0.8%, but on a constant currency basis, sales rose 8.5%.
CEO Bob Gamgort highlighted the company’s success in gaining market share through innovation, partnerships, and acquisitions, including GHOST and C4.
He is confident that Keurig Dr Pepper can deliver a strong financial performance in 2025.
The company forecasts mid-single-digit net sales growth and high-single-digit adjusted earnings per share growth for 2025, factoring in contributions from recent acquisitions.
However, foreign currency translation is expected to create a 1% to 2% headwind.
