ReNew Energy Beats Estimates With Q4 Profit Surge

ReNew Energy Global (NASDAQ: RNW) posted stronger-than-expected results today for its fiscal fourth quarter, driven by a significant jump in earnings and revenue.

For the quarter ending March 31, 2025, the India-based clean energy firm reported a net income of ₹8.11 per diluted share ($0.10), marking a sharp rise from ₹1.29 ($0.015) a year earlier. This result easily exceeded the ₹3.33 per share expected by analysts.

The strong performance is sending shares of ReNew Energy up more than 3.5% in premarket trading.

Telecommunications

EchoStar Stock Jumps 45% After Trump Mediation in FCC Conflict

EchoStar (NASDAQ: SATS) shares are soaring 45% in premarket trading after President Donald Trump reportedly intervened in the company’s escalating conflict with the Federal Communications Commission.

According to a Bloomberg report, the FCC launched a probe into whether EchoStar had complied with its wireless spectrum licensing terms, triggering the company to miss bond payments and weigh bankruptcy options.

Tensions escalated when FCC Chairman Brendan Carr allegedly pressed EchoStar to offload some of its spectrum assets or face revocation.

Following unsuccessful efforts to engage Carr, EchoStar Chairman Charlie Ergen met with him at the FCC’s Washington office last week, urging flexibility.

Later, Ergen appealed directly to the White House, where Trump reportedly expressed concern over the broader economic impact of a potential EchoStar bankruptcy.

During the meeting, Trump reportedly called Carr to the conversation and pushed both parties to reach a compromise.

The exchange briefly veered into political territory, touching on campaign contributions and conservative media access on EchoStar’s DISH service.

Gold Momentum (Sponsored)

This July, a little-known rule goes into effect—forcing Big Banks to rethink what qualifies as “real money.”

Surprisingly, they’re not betting on stocks, bonds, or even the U.S. dollar… they’re going all-in on physical gold.

According to Peter Schiff, it’s now “the only form of money trusted by the banking system.”

Investors tied to traditional accounts like IRAs or 401(k)s may be left behind.

But there’s still time to act.

Powerfleet Rallies on Strong AIoT Revenue and Profit Growth

Powerfleet (NASDAQ: AIOT) is surging 16% in premarket trading today after the AIoT firm delivered quarterly results that exceeded Wall Street’s expectations on both earnings and revenue.

For the first quarter, the company posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.02, beating analyst estimates that had projected breakeven results. Revenue rose 42% year-over-year to $103.6 million, just above consensus forecasts.

The company’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) segment drove much of the momentum, with recurring service revenue jumping 49% to $81.8 million, while product sales grew 23% to $21.9 million. Adjusted EBITDA nearly doubled from a year earlier to $20.4 million.

For fiscal 2025, Powerfleet reported total revenue of $362.5 million, up 26%, with 75% stemming from SaaS. Adjusted EBITDA reached $71 million, representing a 65% year-over-year gain and a 500-basis-point improvement in margins.

The firm highlighted its successful integration of two acquisitions and a fourfold increase in its subscriber base to 2.8 million, which now includes over half of Fortune 500 firms.

Powerfleet closed the quarter with $48.8 million in cash and $273.8 million in debt, bringing net debt to $228.6 million—better than its earlier forecast by $6.4 million.

Movers and Shakers

AIRO Group Holdings Inc. [AIRO] - Last Close: $24.00

AIRO Group Holdings Inc. is a defense-technology company offering AI-enabled drones, avionics, training, and eVTOL air mobility platforms.

Its stock debuted at $10 and surged 140% on its opening day. It is climbing again today, going up 45% in premarket trading, fueled by strong 2024 revenue growth and investor enthusiasm around drone warfare trends.

My Take: AIRO's rapid revenue growth and sector-strong debut reflect early momentum in drone tech, yet with no profits, its success hinges on scaling operations and diversifying its defense and eVTOL segments effectively. Keep this on your radar.

Sage Therapeutics, Inc. [SAGE] - Last Close: $6.70

Sage Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharma focused on developing treatments for central nervous system disorders.

Its shares are jumping 34% in premarket trade on the news that Supernus Pharmaceuticals will acquire Sage for $8.50 per share in cash, plus up to $3.50 in contingent value rights, in a deal valued at up to $795 million.

My Take: The acquisition provides Sage shareholders immediate value and validates the success of its ZurzuvA®, positioning the treatment for broader scale under Supernus. Keep monitoring the progress of the acquisition.

Prothena Corporation PLC [PRTA] - Last Close: $5.08

Prothena Corporation plc is a late-stage biotech focused on protein-misfolding therapies, including treatments for amyloidosis, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s—powered by collaborations with Roche and BMS.

The stock is gaining 16% in premarket today after Roche advanced prasinezumab into Phase 3 development for early-stage Parkinson’s disease based on positive Phase 2 data showing delayed motor progression—boosting confidence in its neuro portfolio.

My Take: Prothena’s pipeline is deepening—Phase 3 Parkinson’s and ongoing amyloidosis and Alzheimer’s programs suggest significant upside—but as always, a clinical stage biotech is a long term bet, so keep this on your watchlist for now.
