As the global shift toward renewable energy accelerates, one resource is proving essential: high-purity silica. It’s a core ingredient in solar panels, energy storage, and other advanced tech—yet supply is tightening as demand surges worldwide.
A small-cap company is stepping up to meet this need, securing control over prime silica reserves and developing proprietary technology to produce 99.999% pure silica.
This level of purity is crucial for energy applications, positioning this company as a potential frontrunner in the clean energy landscape.

Cadillac Expands EV Lineup with New Three-Row Luxury SUV
General Motors has unveiled its latest addition to the all-electric Cadillac lineup: the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq. Positioned as a luxury three-row SUV, the Vistiq is intended to bridge the gap between the midsize Lyriq and the upcoming high-end Escalade IQ. Set to launch in 2025, this model will round out Cadillac's growing EV offerings.
The Vistiq incorporates design elements familiar to Cadillac’s electric range, showcasing a modern interior with an expansive dashboard display and distinctive exterior lighting. The SUV features a powerful battery system, promising an estimated range of 300 miles on a full charge. It boasts impressive performance capabilities, including strong horsepower and torque figures.
Production is scheduled to begin at GM’s Tennessee facility, with availability extending to the U.S., Canada, and other global markets. At release, the vehicle will offer several trim options, with additional premium versions expected later in the year. The Vistiq joins Cadillac’s broader EV lineup, which includes the Optiq, Lyriq, Escalade IQ, and the ultra-luxury Celestiq. Although Cadillac initially aimed for a full EV transition by 2030, the brand has indicated that it will now adapt its strategy based on market demand.
Packaging Blunder Forces Mattel to Recall "Wicked" Dolls
Mattel has recalled its recently launched "Wicked"-themed fashion dolls following a significant packaging error. Instead of directing consumers to the official website for the upcoming "Wicked" movie, the packaging mistakenly included a link leading to an adult content site. The company quickly acknowledged the issue and advised consumers to dispose of the faulty packaging. Major retailers, including Target, Walmart, Amazon, and others, promptly removed the affected dolls from their listings.
Mattel has not yet clarified whether they will reprint the packaging or offer an alternative solution, such as covering the incorrect link. The incident occurred as Universal rolled out various "Wicked"-branded merchandise ahead of the film's release, a move expected to boost holiday sales. This packaging error, however, may impact Mattel’s revenue due to potential product recalls and lost sales opportunities.
In the meantime, the recall has spurred interest among collectors and resellers, leading to a spike in demand for the limited stock of misprinted dolls. Listings on secondary markets like eBay are already showing the dolls at inflated prices, far exceeding their original retail value. The situation highlights how even minor missteps in product packaging can lead to broader repercussions, especially in the competitive holiday retail landscape.
Waymo Expands Self-Driving Ride Service Across Los Angeles
Waymo, a division under Alphabet, is significantly expanding its autonomous ride-hailing service in Los Angeles by removing its waitlist for users. Starting this week, residents across nearly 80 square miles of LA County can access Waymo's self-driving robotaxi service through its Waymo One app, marking the company's largest rollout to date.
Los Angeles becomes the third and largest city to have full access to Waymo’s service, joining San Francisco and Phoenix. The expansion comes as Waymo accelerates its growth, backed by a recent funding boost that aims to broaden its autonomous operations across the United States.
The service sees a strong demand, reporting over 150,000 weekly rides across its operational areas. This marks a significant increase from earlier in the year, highlighting the growing acceptance of self-driving technology. Waymo also plans to extend its reach further with new partnerships, including an upcoming launch in Austin, Texas, set for 2025. The next generation of Waymo's robotaxi fleet will feature advanced models equipped with AI capabilities and custom sensors.
The company has seen its service become popular with various groups, including women seeking safer transportation options and parents utilizing the service for their teens’ commutes.
