Shares of Fermi — the AI data center startup co-founded by former Texas Governor Rick Perry — rose about 20% after it signed AI cloud provider TensorWave as the first customer for its planned Texas campus on land owned by the Texas Tech University System.
Trump Media reported a tenfold jump in Q2 losses, driven by declines in its digital asset valuations, but buried in the earnings was news that more than 10 high-frequency trading firms are paying $60,000 to $100,000 a month for a real-time feed of top Truth Social accounts.
Brent crude touched $90 a barrel before retreating to about $87, as hopes for a Hormuz deal were further complicated after Iran laid out new demands over the weekend, including full U.S. troop withdrawal and war reparations.
Treasury yields moved toward their 2026 highs amid oil-driven inflation concerns, with the 10-year rate approaching 4.73%. Wednesday’s CPI report for July is the week’s main event — economists expect 3.4% annual inflation, a slight improvement from June’s 3.5%.

Joby Aviation agreed to acquire defense technology company Resonant Sciences for about $500 million, adding advanced radio-frequency and mission systems as the electric-aircraft developer builds a much larger presence in the U.S. defense market.

RTX subsidiary Collins Aerospace won a U.S. Army contract worth up to $472 million to provide engineering services and avionics upgrades for the military’s CH-47 Chinook helicopter fleet.

Internet & Digital Platforms
Bumble Drops the Rule That Defined Its Dating App
Bumble is making one of the biggest changes in its history, allowing either person to message first instead of requiring women to start heterosexual conversations, while also extending the response window from 24 hours to 72 hours.
The overhaul follows tests showing more balanced conversation starts and higher chat activity, giving Bumble a major product reset as the company works to improve engagement after declining revenue and paying-user numbers.
Meta’s $2 Billion-Plus Manus Deal Comes Apart
Meta’s acquisition of AI startup Manus is formally unwinding, with the startup returning to independent operations and preparing to delete certain user data generated after the companies originally came together.
Beijing ordered Meta to reverse the $2 billion-plus acquisition in April, while Tencent has since held talks to become Manus’ largest shareholder, leaving Meta without an AI asset it had acquired only months earlier.

Semiconductors & Electronics
Amkor Weighs a $1.5 Billion China Business Sale
Amkor Technology is considering selling a stake in its China operations, potentially valuing the semiconductor packaging business at $1 billion to $1.5 billion as the company works with an adviser to explore a carveout and attract prospective buyers.
Amkor could retain a minority interest in the operation, which includes manufacturing facilities built up over more than two decades, while the company continues expanding advanced chip packaging through a separate $1.5 billion agreement with Nvidia.
Kopin Jumps 25% as Defense Demand Accelerates
Kopin shares surged nearly 25% after the company reported a sharp increase in second-quarter revenue, with sales reaching $12.7 million, more than 8% above Wall Street expectations and 51% higher than a year earlier.
The Massachusetts-based electronics company supplies microdisplays and optical systems for defense and other specialized markets, giving the stock a strong morning move as higher sales showed growing demand across its technology portfolio.

Health & Medicine
Hims & Hers Feels the Cost of Its Weight-Loss Push
Hims & Hers shares fell after the telehealth company’s expansion into branded weight-loss drugs squeezed margins, even as second-quarter revenue beat expectations, more than 300,000 subscribers were added, and the company raised its full-year revenue forecast.
Higher spending on GLP-1 treatments and international expansion pushed the quarter into a loss, while gross margin declined for a fourth consecutive quarter and management trimmed the top end of its adjusted earnings outlook.
Abbott Teams With Google on AI-Powered Glucose Tracking
Abbott launched a multi-year partnership with Google Health to combine its Lingo glucose-monitoring technology with AI, giving users a way to connect glucose trends with other health and wellness information inside Google’s health platform.
The collaboration also includes a large research study designed to improve personalized AI health coaching, while expanding the role of Abbott’s over-the-counter continuous glucose monitor beyond basic glucose readings into broader everyday health guidance.

AI Infrastructure & Data Centers
Fermi Lands a $6.5 Billion Tenant for Its Texas AI Campus
Fermi secured a major breakthrough for its Project Matador development after signing a 15-year lease with TensorWave worth approximately $6.5 billion, bringing an AI cloud provider into the company’s massive data-center campus in Amarillo, Texas.
The agreement calls for Fermi to develop and deliver data centers to TensorWave in phases beginning in the second half of 2027, with expansion rights that could eventually increase the partnership to more than 650 megawatts of capacity.
IBM Signs a $240 Million AI Cloud Deal
IBM entered a multi-year $240 million agreement with Together AI to build large-scale artificial-intelligence infrastructure on IBM Cloud using Nvidia’s newest Blackwell-based systems.

Top Winners and Losers
Planet Green Holdings [PLAG] $5.81 (+902.24%)
Planet Green makes consumer products including eco-friendly goods and beverages.
The stock ran more than 900% today on over 1,000x average volume — that kind of velocity at a sub-$10 market cap is thin-float mechanics, not a press release. The move qualifies for coverage under the 150%+ threshold. Planet Green: $5.71, +909%, 185.07 million shares traded.
WF International [WXM] $7.90 (+97.50%)
WF International is a distribution services company that surged 97% on 960x its average daily volume. The stock went from under $4 to above $7 in a single session on no confirmed fundamental announcement.
When a distribution company with a few million dollars in total value trades nearly 1,000 times its normal volume, the move is positioning, not business news.
Quantum Corporation [QMCO] $19.40 (+64.69%)
Quantum reported Q1 FY2027 earnings of $0.18 per share against a consensus expectation of a $0.17 loss — a swing of $0.35 that represents one of the biggest earnings surprises in the data storage sector this year.
Revenue grew 26% year-over-year to $80.8 million, beating estimates, and the company declared itself debt-free for the first time in years. Q2 guidance also came in above consensus. The company that stores AI training data is finally getting rewarded for its own performance. Buy rated.

Beachbody [BODI] $6.29 (-38.45%)
Beachbody makes fitness programs including P90X and Insanity and sells them through a subscription streaming model. The company reported Q2 results showing continued subscriber decline, as consumers increasingly opt for free fitness content on YouTube and TikTok over paid subscriptions.
Beachbody’s problem is structural — it built a premium content model in an era where fitness content became a commodity. Buy rated.
Cardinal Infrastructure Group [CDNL] $38.27 (-36.22%)
Cardinal Infrastructure provides utility and infrastructure construction services.
The company reported Q2 results that missed revenue expectations as project timing slipped — large infrastructure contracts frequently push into later quarters, but investors aren’t patient when margins are compressing at the same time. Buy rated.
Proficient Auto Logistics [PAL] $5.10 (-29.56%)
Proficient Auto Logistics transports new and used vehicles from manufacturers to dealers across North America. Q2 results disappointed as light vehicle sales volumes slowed and the company absorbed rising fuel surcharges without being able to pass all of them through to customers.
Auto transport is one of the purest indicators of vehicle production health — when OEM output slips, so does PAL’s revenue. Buy rated.
