July’s payroll print was cold enough to move the Fed rate conversation: the economy shed jobs last month, a big miss against expectations, and September rate hike odds dropped from 55% to 42% within the hour.
Atlassian and Doximity gave investors something to celebrate on the earnings side, with both companies delivering results that challenged the idea that AI was going to disrupt enterprise software from the outside. Today’s edition has the full picture.

A Product Chief Has Sold $18.5 Million. A CEO Just Cut His Reported Stake by 40%.
One senior technology executive sold another $3 million as his company reached a fresh 52-week high, bringing his disclosed sales since late May above $18.5 million.
Elsewhere, a CEO sold nearly $7.8 million immediately after an earnings beat sent shares sharply higher. The dollar amount is smaller than the technology executive’s selling campaign, but the ownership reduction sends the stronger warning.

The July jobs report surprised to the downside with the economy shedding 23,000 jobs versus expectations of 83,000 added, pushing September rate hike odds down from 55% to 42% and giving equities a macro lift heading into a busy earnings morning.
Atlassian’s Q4 FY2026 delivered a decisive beat with EPS of $1.87, crushing the $1.50 estimate and cloud revenue up 31% year-over-year, while Doximity’s CEO said its AI search product earns ten times its operating cost in revenue, a claim that doubled the stock in premarket before settling into a +30% gain.
SpaceX recovered from its post-earnings slide to climb further as retail investors piled into the stock despite insider selling concerns. Under Armour cut its full-year revenue outlook for the second time this year, and Trade Desk dropped sharply after missing Q2 revenue estimates.

Goldman Sachs BDC Builds Lending Firepower
Goldman Sachs BDC reported $83.7 million in investment income for the second quarter, while leverage fell below its 1.25-times target shortly after quarter-end, creating additional room for new lending and share repurchases.
The company had $796 million of remaining revolving-credit capacity at quarter-end and expects investment deployment to pick up during the second half of 2026 as deal activity improves.

Rockstar Founder Builds 4.7% Stake in Celsius
Celsius Holdings is facing a new activist challenge after Rockstar Energy founder Russ Savage built a 4.7% stake representing more than 12 million shares and called for a leadership change, including saying he would be willing to run the company himself.
Savage previously sold Rockstar to PepsiCo for $3.85 billion and has been informally advising Celsius for more than a year, turning his sizable position into a fresh strategic pressure point for the energy-drink company.
Ulta Finds a New Customer Pipeline in AI
Ulta Beauty is turning AI shopping traffic into a growing customer channel, with shoppers arriving through ChatGPT and Google's Gemini showing roughly double the conversion and purchase intent seen from other visitors.
The retailer is now working with Google to bring shopping carts and its Ulta Beauty Rewards program into Gemini, while still pushing customers toward Ulta's own website so it retains purchasing data and the direct customer relationship.

Meta Faces $942 Million New Mexico Bill
Meta was ordered to put $567 million into a New Mexico fund addressing harms to young people from Facebook and Instagram, adding to the $375 million in civil penalties already imposed in the same case.
The ruling also requires changes to youth protections, including tighter controls on teen usage and notifications, stronger safeguards around adult-minor interactions, and measures aimed at identifying and removing accounts belonging to children under 13. Meta plans to appeal.
Levi Strauss Hit by Social-Engineering Breach
Levi Strauss disclosed a new cybersecurity breach involving an unauthorized third party that gained access to company systems after targeting three employees through social engineering.
The disclosure comes as phone-based hacking groups increasingly target major U.S. businesses by impersonating corporate help desks and tricking employees into surrendering account credentials and authentication codes.

Top Winners and Losers
Avita Medical [RCEL] $7.77 (+63.58%)
Avita reported Q2 revenue of $21.7 million, up 18% year-over-year and 13% sequentially, then raised its full-year 2026 guidance to $86-89 million, representing 20-24% growth. The company said it’s on track for cash-flow breakeven in Q4.
Its RECELL wound-care platform is expanding into smaller wound indications, Cohealyx has 55 active hospital value-analysis reviews underway, and reimbursement simplifications coming in 2027 reduce physician adoption friction. The trajectory is pointing the right direction across every metric.
Atlassian [TEAM] $149.07 (+35.31%)
Atlassian’s Q4 FY2026 beat on every line that matters: EPS of $1.87 versus $1.50 expected, revenue of $1.77 billion versus $1.66 billion, cloud revenue up 31%, and remaining performance obligations up 44% to $4.8 billion. Q1 FY27 guidance came in above consensus.
AI-native Jira features including Claude Code and GitHub Copilot integrations are launching at no extra cost to paid users, which tightens the Atlassian ecosystem rather than opening a pricing conversation.
Doximity [DOCS] $27.40 (+32.62%)
Doximity beat Q1 FY27 revenue at $156.6 million versus $151.7 million expected, but the line that moved the stock was the CEO’s comment on earnings that the company’s AI search product earns ten times what it costs to run.
Active prescriber growth exceeded 30% year-over-year, and AI search query growth hit 25% quarter-over-quarter. The company guided fiscal 2027 revenue to $671-681 million, above the $670 million consensus. The AI margin claim is the story.

Sezzle [SEZL] $118.02 (-60.51%)
Sezzle beat Q2 revenue estimates with $149.7 million, up 51.7% year-over-year, raised full-year EPS guidance to $5.25 and full-year revenue growth to 35%, and still dropped 34%.
The issue: management warned that H2 revenue growth will slow to roughly 30% and that the revenue yield that boosted Q2 results will normalize lower. The stock had been up more than 300% in 2026 before Friday, so any guide that signals deceleration at this multiple hits hard.
nLIGHT [LASR] $56.16 (-25.56%)
nLIGHT makes high-power fiber lasers for defense, industrial, and materials processing applications. Q2 results showed revenue growth in the defense segment but margin compression from higher manufacturing costs and a softer-than-expected industrial laser recovery in Asia.
The stock had been running on defense laser demand from the Iran conflict-era military spending surge and gave back a portion of that run on results that weren’t bad enough to panic about but weren’t strong enough to justify the premium.
QuidelOrtho [QDEL] $12.29 (-24.72%)
QuidelOrtho reported Q2 financial results and simultaneously cut its full-year 2026 guidance below analyst estimates, a combination that removes the multiple support the stock needed at its current price.
The diagnostics company’s respiratory testing volumes are normalizing post-pandemic, and its non-respiratory segments haven’t scaled fast enough to offset that revenue mix shift. The guidance cut is the part that stings, not the Q2 miss itself.
