The European Central Bank just confirmed it.

Gold: 27% of global reserves. U.S. Treasuries: 22%.

A year ago, those numbers were reversed.

The institutions that print money are quietly trading dollars for gold — at the fastest pace in 50 years. JP Morgan forecasts $8,000 ahead.

Nvidia has beaten estimates in each of the past 14 quarters and is navigating a hardware transition from Blackwell to its next-generation Rubin architecture — what veterans call a “handoff quarter” where expectations historically get tested; options markets priced in a 5.4% post-earnings swing, and CEO Jensen Huang speaks at 5pm ET.

Meta settled with 48 state attorneys general for $18 billion, ending a trial built on internal documents showing executives were aware that its products harmed minors; the stock rose 1.4% as investors treated a settled liability as better than three more years of litigation.

The Fed’s preferred inflation gauge held at 3.7% in July — unchanged from June and well above the 2% target — giving Kevin Warsh little comfort ahead of his Jackson Hole speech Friday.

Boston Scientific fell 4.5% after a cyberattack disrupted its ability to process and ship cardiac device orders, with no timeline for full restoration.

Abercrombie & Fitch reported record Q2 net sales for its 15th consecutive quarter of growth, with adjusted EPS of $4.17 crushing an estimate of roughly $1.99, including about $100 million in tariff refunds; the company raised its full-year guidance.

Kohl’s Restarts Buybacks After a Four-Year Pause

Kohl’s raised its full-year earnings outlook after second-quarter adjusted EPS reached $1.28, helped by roughly $150 million in tariff refunds. The retailer also announced plans to restart share repurchases with up to $100 million of stock purchases this year.

Comparable sales still declined 0.9%, but gross margin expanded 305 basis points and long-term debt fell to its lowest level since 2007, giving Kohl’s more financial flexibility while it works through continued pressure on lower- and middle-income shoppers.

Bath & Body Works Raises Its Profit Outlook

Industrials & Infrastructure

Dycom Raises Outlook as Infrastructure Demand Holds

Dycom Industries beat second-quarter estimates and raised its full-year outlook, reporting adjusted EPS of $5.29 on $2.0 billion in revenue as demand remained strong across fiber, wireless and building-systems projects despite a $150 million wireless revenue shift into fiscal 2028.

Communications margins remained under pressure, but Dycom’s broader infrastructure pipeline continues to benefit from network upgrades and data-center construction, giving the company additional growth channels beyond any single customer or project cycle.

Donaldson Breaks $1 Billion in Quarterly Sales

Donaldson Company posted record fourth-quarter sales above $1 billion for the first time, with revenue rising 8% and adjusted EPS reaching $1.15 as stronger volume, pricing, and operational improvements lifted its filtration businesses.

Healthcare & Medical

Revolution Medicines Wins a Landmark Pancreatic Cancer Approval

Revolution Medicines won FDA approval for Rasonque, its once-daily targeted pill for previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer, after a 500-patient study showed median overall survival of 13.2 months compared with 6.7 months for standard chemotherapy.

Rasonque is the first approved drug designed to block multiple forms of the RAS protein, giving Revolution Medicines a commercial foothold in one of oncology’s hardest-to-treat diseases after receiving an accelerated review through the FDA’s national priority voucher program.

Abbott Gets the First Dual Glucose-Ketone Wearable Approved

The 10-day sensor gives Abbott another differentiated product in continuous monitoring, combining two measurements that previously required separate testing while extending the Libre platform beyond glucose management into earlier detection of dangerous ketone buildup.

Top Winners and Losers

Cre8 Enterprise [CRE] $6.81 (+164.98%)

Cre8 Enterprise is a commercial services company that runs at a trailing P/E of 18x on positive EPS of $0.37 — meaning it’s actually profitable, which puts it in an unusual category for stocks that double in a single session.

The move came on 1,649x relative volume: a catalyst and institutional repositioning. At $5.18 million in total value, any concentrated buying creates an outsized print.

Expion360 [XPON] $9.17 (+74.00%)

Expion360 makes lithium iron phosphate batteries for recreational vehicles and marine vessels.

The company announced a transformative strategic partnership on Monday and has now run roughly 96% on Monday, fallen 15% on Tuesday, and surged 74% on Wednesday in a pattern driven by thin-float mechanics amplifying the genuine commercial news underneath.

The partnership is real; the day-to-day volatility is positioning.

Abercrombie & Fitch [ANF] $147.75 (+35.59%)

Abercrombie reported record Q2 net sales of $1.27 billion, its 15th consecutive quarter of growth, with adjusted EPS of $4.17 against analyst expectations of roughly $1.99.

The Abercrombie flagship brand delivered 8% net sales growth and 4% comparable sales improvement.

Management raised full-year guidance and cited a “strong start to August.” When a retailer beats by 110% on EPS and says August is going well, the stock doesn’t wait. Buy rated.

Greenland Mines [GRML] $5.04 (-48.09%)

Greenland Mines extracts rare earth minerals from Greenland’s substantial deposits — a company whose entire value proposition is geopolitical (Greenland’s rare earths as an alternative to Chinese supply chains).

The stock fell 48% on a development that called into question either the financing, the licensing timeline, or the strategic positioning of its flagship project. Strong Buy rating, which tells you analysts still believe in the long-term thesis even after a session like this.

Wetour Robotics [WETO] $17.28 (-38.96%)

Wetour Robotics makes intelligent transportation robots and completed a 1-for-100 reverse split in August to regain Nasdaq compliance.

The stock ran 33% on Monday, crashed Wednesday by 38% — this is what post-split thin-float volatility looks like when the float is this small and positioning is this directional.

The underlying business hasn’t changed across three sessions with triple-digit swings.

IP Strategy Holdings [IPST] $5.99 (-23.01%)

IP Strategy Holdings was up 107% on Friday and up another 22% on Monday. Today it gives back 23%. The pattern across three sessions is entirely mechanical.

A momentum run in a micro-cap name exhausts its buyers, the positioning reverses, and the stock gives back a portion of the gains without any change in fundamental outlook.

You Read This Far. Here's Where the Real Work Lives.

We run three live portfolios on Autopilot, and everything about them is public: every position, every allocation, every trade, visible the moment it happens.

We keep our own money in each one, because analysis you won't fund yourself is just content.

THE UNBREAKABLE STACK
Our growth book: durable software and cybersecurity names built to compound quietly for years.

THE HORMUZ PREMIUM
Our energy thesis: built for how that sector actually pays, over quarters, not headlines.

THE SQUEEZE
The defensive sleeve: staples and steady compounders, boring on purpose, built for the nights you'd rather sleep than watch futures.

And here's the part that makes it effortless: Autopilot does the trading for you. Connect the brokerage you already use (Robinhood, Schwab, Fidelity, and more) and every move we make gets mirrored in your own account automatically.

Your money never leaves your brokerage. It stays in your account, under your control, and you can override any trade or disconnect anytime. Autopilot even rebalances automatically when allocations drift, and you get a notification every time something happens.

No watching tickers. No timing entries. No fat-finger mistakes at market open. You pick the portfolio, we do the work, your account follows along.

Pick the one that fits your risk level, or run all three:

Live portfolios, real positions, our own capital at stake. Your funds stay in your own brokerage account. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results.

That's it for today! Please, write us back, and let us know what you think of the Closing Bell Roundup. We're always eager to hear feedback!

Thanks for reading. I'll see you at the next open!
