Dick’s Sporting Goods lowered parts of its outlook and cited industry-wide challenges, with Executive Chair Ed Stack telling analysts, “the industry is carrying too much inventory, and the consumer has been even more cautious than expected due to the geopolitical environment” — dragging Nike lower alongside it, because when Dick’s talks about excess vendor inventory, Nike is listening.

Bitcoin briefly crossed $80,000 for the first time since May as the Trump administration’s efforts to push down long-term interest rates reignited the “dollar debasement trade,” with the iShares Bitcoin ETF logging six straight days of inflows.

Boeing clinched a contract worth up to $131 billion to maintain and upgrade the US Air Force’s F-15 fleet, covering upgrades, retrofits, and maintenance for US forces and foreign buyers including Japan, Israel, and Saudi Arabia — giving Boeing’s defense business a decade of runway.

Stanley Druckenmiller, Bessent’s longtime mentor, called the Treasury’s bond buyback plan a “mistake” in a WSJ op-ed, arguing it doesn’t address why borrowing costs are rising. Canada retaliated with 15-50% tariffs on $20 billion of American goods covering steel, dairy, appliances, and farm equipment, though markets largely moved on.

Leidos Adds $56 Million Navy Health Contract

Leidos won a $56 million Navy contract spanning 66 months to conduct behavioral health research and operational assessments for U.S. military personnel, expanding its defense-health workload through a program focused on deployment-cycle risks, readiness and force performance.

The company will use data-driven analysis to identify protective factors, study psychological pressures and translate research findings into practical readiness tools for the Naval Health Research Center, adding another long-duration federal program to Leidos’ national-security portfolio.

York Space Joins Space Force Data Network Program

York Space Systems was selected for the Space Force’s Space Data Network Backbone program, giving the NYSE-listed satellite company a role in building an integrated space-based communications network designed around commercial technology and resilient military connectivity.

The award builds on York’s delivery of all 42 satellites for the Space Development Agency’s Tranche 1 Transport Layer and expands a defense portfolio that already spans eight mission sets, strengthening its position in U.S. military space infrastructure.

Technology & Hardware

Apple Pushes Mac Studio Deeper Into AI Workloads

Apple launched a new Mac Studio powered by M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, adding higher memory ceilings, faster AI performance and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity as it pushes desktop Macs further into demanding creative and local AI workloads.

Preorders opened Tuesday ahead of September 22 availability, with prices starting at $2,499 for M5 Max and $5,499 for M5 Ultra, while Apple says the top configuration can reach 512GB of unified memory and support distributed AI workloads across multiple systems.

Boxlight Builds a New Sales Platform for School Technology

Boxlight launched its new Composer platform for authorized resellers, combining solution design, proposals, installation planning and project verification into one workflow as the education-technology company looks to make large school and district deployments easier to manage.

The platform lets partners map devices, prepare product specifications, generate proposals and document customer approvals, while also supporting Boxlight’s Symphony Certified campus-communications process and giving resellers the software at no additional cost.

Transportation & Mobility

Waymo Takes Its Robotaxis to Munich

Alphabet-owned Waymo will begin testing autonomous vehicles in Munich in the coming weeks, starting the groundwork for a commercial German ride-hailing service that the company aims to launch by late 2027 as it pushes its driverless technology into another major international market.

The expansion gives Waymo an early foothold in Germany while regulators and local officials work through approvals, extending a global rollout that increasingly positions autonomous transportation as a commercial business rather than a collection of limited U.S. pilots.

Textron Hits a 500-Jet Citation Milestone

Textron Aviation delivered its 500th Cessna Citation CJ4-series jet, marking a new milestone for one of its core light-business aircraft platforms as the company continues to benefit from demand for smaller jets used by corporate, private, and charter customers.

The delivery reinforces Textron’s position in business aviation, where the Citation family remains a major part of its aircraft portfolio. It gives the company another tangible production milestone as demand for flexible private and corporate air travel continues to support the light-jet market.

Gold: 27% of global reserves. U.S. Treasuries: 22%.

A year ago, those numbers were reversed.

Industrials & Materials

Olin and Huntsman Move Their Merger Toward the Finish Line

Olin and Huntsman shareholders approved their proposed all-stock merger of equals, clearing a major hurdle toward creating OlinHuntsman Corporation and combining two large U.S. chemical businesses into a vertically integrated company spanning products and customers across the industrial value chain.

The companies are now working through the remaining closing steps, with management arguing that the combined operation will have greater scale, a broader manufacturing platform and stronger flexibility to manage changing conditions across global chemical markets.

Vishay Expands Its Automotive Electronics Lineup

Vishay Intertechnology expanded its automotive component portfolio with four new surface-mount common-mode chokes designed for applications including vehicle Ethernet networks, DC/DC power supplies, displays, and lighting systems, strengthening its component offering as vehicles become increasingly dependent on complex electrical systems.

The AEC-Q200-qualified devices support currents as high as 14 amps while improving efficiency and reducing board space, with Vishay making samples and production quantities available with lead times of roughly 10 to 12 weeks.

Biotech & Drug Development

Anavex Moves Its Alzheimer’s Program Back Toward Phase 3

Anavex Life Sciences advanced its Alzheimer’s Phase 3 planning with the FDA after submitting completed clinical-trial data to a newly opened Alzheimer’s IND, giving the company a clearer regulatory path for its proposed ANAVEX2-73-AD-005 study while keeping its U.S. development strategy centered on blarcamesine.

The biotech ended June with $118.3 million in cash and expects that balance to fund operations into mid-to-late fiscal 2028, giving it room to advance Alzheimer’s, Rett syndrome and Fragile X programs without an immediate financing requirement.

Kura’s CEO Puts $1.24 Million Behind the Company

Kura Oncology CEO Troy Wilson purchased 100,000 Kura shares worth about $1.24 million on August 24, increasing his exposure to the cancer-focused biotech as the company continues developing and commercializing precision medicines across blood cancers and solid tumors.

Wilson paid a weighted average of $12.39 per share, with the purchase substantially increasing his holdings and giving Kura an unusually large insider-confidence signal from its sitting chief executive rather than another routine analyst rating or small management transaction.

Top Winners and Losers

Picard Medical [PMI] $9.55 (+86.16%)

Picard Medical makes the SynCardia Total Artificial Heart — the only FDA- and Health Canada-approved total artificial heart in existence. Q2 2026 revenue hit $2.95 million, up 39% year-over-year and nearly double the analyst estimate of $1.55 million.

That kind of revenue surprise on a company this size creates multi-session momentum, which is exactly what you’re seeing with a second straight day of outsized gains. Neutral rated.

707 Cayman Holdings [JEM] $6.80 (+77.88%)

707 Cayman Holdings is a distribution services company that surged 77% on 46x its average daily volume. The company has been building positioning across sessions as speculative capital cycles through distribution and logistics names.

At $4.35 million in total value, the stock moves sharply on modest positioning shifts.

Autonomix Medical [AMIX] $7.19 (+33.89%)

Autonomix makes neural sensing catheter systems for treating hypertension and certain cancers via nerve pathway intervention. The stock has been a fixture in the top movers list since its patent-driven 502% surge in early August.

Today’s 33% gain reflects continued institutional repositioning in a name wih a legitimate underlying technology and a float that amplifies every directional move. Strong Buy rated.

Future Vision II Acquisition [FVN] $9.43 (-52.47%)

Future Vision II was up 40% on Monday on deal momentum speculation that lifted the SPAC above its trust floor. Tuesday’s 52% decline brings it back toward the $10 NAV range as the deal excitement that drove Monday’s premium fades without new confirmations.

SPACs above their trust floor are priced on the hope that a deal closes on favorable terms — when that hope isn’t reinforced, the premium compresses.

Dick’s Sporting Goods [DKS] $124.31 (-30.68%)

Dick’s acquired Foot Locker last fall and is now navigating a combined business with Foot Locker taking the harder hit. The company increased promotions to compete with rivals lowering prices, which is exactly the wrong environment for a business already carrying inventory pressure.

Q2 results and lowered guidance sent the stock down 30% as investors questioned whether the Dick’s that beat the retail apocalypse is the same company that can absorb Foot Locker’s structural challenges. Buy rated.

Sadot Group [SDOT] $16.35 (-29.40%)

Sadot was up 82% on Monday and is down 29% on Tuesday. The food trading company’s summer of momentum cycles continues with the kind of precision that would be impressive if it weren’t completely mechanical.

No fundamental change in either direction, and the stock will likely do this again. That’s the pattern.

You Read This Far. Here's Where the Real Work Lives.

We run three live portfolios on Autopilot, and everything about them is public: every position, every allocation, every trade, visible the moment it happens.

We keep our own money in each one, because analysis you won't fund yourself is just content.

THE UNBREAKABLE STACK
Our growth book: durable software and cybersecurity names built to compound quietly for years.

THE HORMUZ PREMIUM
Our energy thesis: built for how that sector actually pays, over quarters, not headlines.

THE SQUEEZE
The defensive sleeve: staples and steady compounders, boring on purpose, built for the nights you'd rather sleep than watch futures.

And here's the part that makes it effortless: Autopilot does the trading for you. Connect the brokerage you already use (Robinhood, Schwab, Fidelity, and more) and every move we make gets mirrored in your own account automatically.

Your money never leaves your brokerage. It stays in your account, under your control, and you can override any trade or disconnect anytime. Autopilot even rebalances automatically when allocations drift, and you get a notification every time something happens.

No watching tickers. No timing entries. No fat-finger mistakes at market open. You pick the portfolio, we do the work, your account follows along.

Pick the one that fits your risk level, or run all three:

Live portfolios, real positions, our own capital at stake. Your funds stay in your own brokerage account. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results.

Thanks for reading. I'll see you at the next open!
